Sometimes words simply have a nice ring to them, and they get wedged into my thoughts. Something poetic about them keeps them around.

Right now has been the name Shayan Mohanty.

I met him briefly in Vancouver.
In an interview, he said, “I got first place [at the regional level at Fair Park in Dallas] and nine awards from corporations. The state level was in San Antonio, and I got grand prize there and two corporation awards, as well as military awards. I got the Air Force award, and when I was presenting, they showed interest and have been communicating ever since.”

He was at ISEF. I didn’t meet him then, but he scored forth place in his category and got offered a job by Intel.

He declined. CEO of his own company, he’d rather work on his own project.

Damn that kid was amazing. He was far beyond any of us. A little god among the smartest teens worldwide. He’s going to ISEF again this year, from what I gather on his Facebook. Damn, what I wouldn’t give to have him as a real friend!

It’s the people like him who make me fight harder for knowledge. Had I the opportunity to restart my life, socialization would be an extraneous aspect. Much more time would be dedicated to my studies.
